Kayak Nature

Kayak Nature owner Kurt Zuelsdorf,  grew up as a nature tour guide working 20 + years at Horicon Marsh Boat Tours in Wisconsin. Established in 1963 by the Roland Zuelsdorf family, it’s now owned and operated by his oldest brother Marc, along with his wife and three children. Kurt is also a published author of outdoor adventure stories, a Nuisance Wildlife Trapper licensed by the State of Florida, and all around outdoor life enthusiast.

Kurt’s  waterway clean up program has recieved National attention as the trash totals are nearing 100,000 lbs…all removed from waterways using kayaks! Visit the “In The News” page for list of accompishments and awards.

Gulfport Outpost

 The OUTPOST is the hub of activity for all “Gulfport Goes Green” events! Filled front to back, side to side and top to bottom with the talent , spirit, and soul.  Over 35 locals contribute to this little store.  Brimming with fun, funky and one of a kind pieces of local art The Outpost is a fun place to shop.The always “Green” Owner, Leslie Gilchrist displays eco-friendly items readily available and in abundance. Nite lites made from recycled bottles, skirts made of recycled jeans & t-shirts, rainbarrels & friendly palm frond fish are the just start!  Tiki masks are painted to whimsical perfection and groovy carved wooden bowls are part of what Gulfport is. Tikis small and large, handmade jewelry, and Hawaiian shirts by Ben Worn and Ima Stillgood. Who could pass up a kayak trip from the beach or a guided eco-tour of Clam Bayou!  And remember “If you’re too weird for Gulfort, you’re just too weird.”
